Comprehensive Assessments for Autism & ADHD

Every child carries a pattern. You just need the right eyes to see it.

We go beyond surface behaviours, learning struggles, and emotional challenges to uncover what truly lies beneath. Through expert, tailored evaluations for children with autism, ADHD, and related developmental challenges, we help families find clarity and meaningful direction.

We don’t believe in forcing children into boxes they were never meant to fit. Instead, we take the time to understand the child as they are. Unique, complex, and full of meaning.

Complex children are not a problem to fix. They are patterns to understand. And that’s exactly where our expertise begins.

About Dr. Charlotte Joseph

I am a Consultant General and Developmental Paediatrician with over two decades of experience in child health, specialising in neurodevelopmental and neurodisability care. I am currently based at KPJ Damansara Specialist Hospital in Kuala Lumpur, where I provide comprehensive care for children with developmental concerns.

My clinical expertise includes autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, global developmental delay, learning difficulties, behavioural concerns, and a wide range of neurodisabilities.

I received my international medical training with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Kasturba Medical College, India, and I am a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH, UK). I completed my Fellowship in Developmental Paediatrics under the Ministry of Health Malaysia, which included clinical attachments at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM) and a subspecialty fellowship with the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (RCPCH), UK.

To further advance my expertise, I obtained a Diploma in Paediatric Neurodisability (UK), graduating with Distinction and receiving the prestigious Sir David Hall Prize awarded by Sheffield Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, and the British Academy for Childhood Disability (BACD). I also hold a Professional Diploma in UK Medical Practice (DipUKMP) and have completed a Certificate in Paediatric Bioethics from the Children’s Mercy Bioethics Center in Kansas City, USA.

In my practice, I take a holistic and family-centred approach to developmental care. I work closely with parents, educators, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure that each child receives a personalised care plan tailored to their unique needs. I offer comprehensive developmental assessments, second opinions, and structured management plans.

I am also a certified provider of the UCLA PEERS® Program for social skills and am trained in gold-standard diagnostic tools such as the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS), Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development, and Griffiths III Developmental Scales.

Beyond my clinical work, I am actively involved in academic research, teaching, and clinical ethics. I have presented my work at both national and international platforms, including King’s College London, the British Association for Community Child Health (BACCH), and the Malaysian Paediatric Association. Most recently, I was invited to speak at the Nepal Bioethics Conference, where I shared insights on ethical approaches in paediatric research involving children and minors.

My broader academic interests include autism diagnosis, sleep disorders in children with developmental conditions, educational health planning, and parental stress among families of neurodivergent children. I am also involved in ethics and research governance within the Ministry of Health Malaysia.

I am a strong advocate for neurodiversity and inclusive care, and I am regularly invited to speak at conferences, medical forums, and public health events. I collaborate closely with organisations such as the National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM), Persatuan Dyslexia Malaysia, and Kiwanis Malaysia to raise awareness and support children with developmental differences.

Through both my clinical and public work, I remain committed to improving awareness, early diagnosis, and access to services for children with developmental and learning needs across Malaysia.
